108° 37' 27" W (near Cortez, CO) at:

The camera used is a Nikon D300 and the lens a Nikkor 70-200mm 1:2.8, the 35 mm equivalent focal length is 300 mm. Two ND 2.0 filters were attached to the lens, resulting in a light transmittance of 1/10000. Exposure was 1/500 s, f/8, ASA 100. The images were scaled down to half size. |
Venus transit of 5 June 2012, observed at geographical position 40° 23' N and 105°
30' W (Estes Park, CO) at:
There was bad weather in Estes Park, allowing only for one observation in the evening. Note that 4 sunspots can be seen: 2 on a horizontal line below Venus and 2 on the upper edge of the cloud. |
